“Several years ago I was in a motorcycle accident which rendered me a quadriplegic, with C4, 5 and 6, and T6, 7 and 8 injuries. Before the accident, I was very active. After the injury, it was hard adjusting to the fact that I can’t go everywhere I previously went without problems. It was really frustrating, especially at my work sites. When I first saw the iBOT® , I immediately felt that the iBOT® would be a great asset to me.
 

For me, the most important thing is that the iBOT® allows me to go almost anywhere. I live in a historic town where they have maintained

the authenticity of the old buildings. Many of the attorneys’ offices where I must go for house closings are in these preserved buildings, which offer no access to people with disabilities. Now, I can maneuver, turn on a dime and reach any office in the complex. The 4-Wheel Function of the iBOT® and its stair-climbing capabilities help out tremendously on my job sites. Until I received my iBOT® , I had to depend on my colleagues and co-workers to describe construction issues and problems. I can now visit and see for myself any part of the site and assure my clients that they are getting the best possible work. The iBOT® puts me at ease.
 

When I go out in public, I am usually in Balance mode. As a result, I am often surrounded by curious well-wishers. Everyone wants to know how the iBOT® works. Sometimes at the building supply store, I have to allow extra time just to shop, knowing I will spend half the time demonstrating the iBOT® to other shoppers who are stunned by how easily I am able to reach things on high shelves while maneuvering tight aisles. A good portion of the people will come up and simply ask: “How are you doing that?” or “I hate to stare, but I have to ask you…” and I will simply reply: “That’s OK, I stared at the iBOT® as well, the first time I saw it!"
